Juneteenth 2024

On June 19th, 1865, enslaved people in Galveston, Texas finally received word of their freedom, two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth is a time to honor Black resilience, celebrate Black joy, and recommit ourselves to the ongoing fight for racial justice.

Guess what? Today, we at YWCA USA are partying all across the nation for Juneteenth!  This day is all about celebrating freedom, marking the end of slavery in our beloved United States.

Got plans? No? Well, we've got you covered! From Clinton, Iowa to Delaware and Newburyport, Massachusetts, from El Paso, Texas right up to Lincoln, Nebraska, there's something happening everywhere.

Swing by your local YWCA for some amazing community events! Be there or be square, guys! Let's commemorate this historic day together.
